Kusube Yaichi: In Showa period after the WWII, two great potter-artists, Ito Touzan and Kusube Yaichi succeeded the fire of Awata. They were the main members of Nitten, the most popular of all the great art organizations in Japan. Specially, Kusube Yaichi was given the Order of Cultual Merits which is the highest prize for ceramic artists in Japan, or Jusanmi-prize and a sliver cup .
However, this fire completely ceased when Ito Touzan died in 1970 at the age of 70 and Kusube Yaichi died in 1984 at the age of 87.

Kutani Vazosu/Vase circa/yakl.1900-1910 |
Kutani Vazosu Geç Meiji Dönemi'ndendir. Kutani'ye has kırmızı, bej, kahverengi ve altın varakla bezenmiştir.
Kutani vase, adorned with floral motifs such as peonies, leaves, branches and a bird travelling around. Kutani red is dominant among beige background with cracked glaze and brown colours. There are two different views on the cracked glaze, unusual to Kutani, the first claims Satsuma trained artists worked in the decoration of some sort of Kutanis, the latter claims firing accident with a nice looking result. Height 15cm. Late Meiji and considerably rare to typical Kutanis. |
